Since my former ideas are completely unrelated, I've deleted them <small>(if you're curious, just check the recent history)</small>. The thing is, after much brainstorming and an accidental look at a Yu-Gi-Oh pic, I finally found the origin of Lucario's name. It's part of the word {{wp|orichalcum}} with the kana in reverse. <small>'''(Note: In the following explanation, silent letters will be italicized)'''</small> While the standard Japanese spelling is オリハルコン (ori''c''halcon), the latin form is written as オリカルクム (oric''h''alcum), which in reverse is ムクルカリオ (muculuc''h''ario), then we take out the first two kana and get ルカリオ (luc''h''ario) or simply Lucario. The name makes sense, given Lucario's ancient/mythological design basis, and more particularly, its Steel type. So, if there aren't any objections, I'll be adding my theory as a main explanation. An easier wording would help, though. --[[User:Kaoz|Kaoz]] 01:41, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

== Magnet Rise and DBZ ==
Am I the only one who has an idea on why they gave Lucario Magnet Rise?
Basicallly, it has to do with a theory I have on Lucario being a reference to DBZ characters.
DBZ characters can beat people up in combat(Lucario can too with Close Combat and other Punch/Kick moves), use Ki(Aura is practically the same thing IMO) to launch energy attacks(Aura Sphere), Move insanely fast(Extremespeed), punch really fast too(Bullet Punch), and levitate in the air(Now with Magnet Rise). Counter, Reversal, Detect, Double Team, the other Pulse moves, Bulk Up/Iron Defense are also moves that could seem DBZ-ish in their descriptions and possible anime usage. And Lucario is the only Pokemon able to learn every single one of these moves. So, I really think Lucario is somewhat of a nod to DBZ. [[User:JoeTE|Joe T.E.]] 22:08, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
