So, I don't know if this was intentional, but it so happens that there is another character named Blaine with a penchant for riddles-- the demented locomotive Blaine the Mono, from Stephen King's novel ''The Dark Tower: The Waste Lands''. I don't want to add this to the main page as a possible inspiration for Blaine's english name, but the timeframe adds up, since the book was published in 1991. Could Blaine have been named after the Stephen King character?
