This section is talking about the section title "Sun and Moon", not what the Japanese name of the film series is called. The stuff at the beginning of the article, that's fine. :The franchise is changing, and Pokémon movies are no exceptions. Maybe having movies that don't have characters in the main anime series it's apart of is part of that change. Besides, as been clarified to you already, the movies were released during the Sun and Moon series, so they are a part of that series.
