== In need of a major clean up ==
Bluntly put, this is a terrible collection of everyone putting in whatever obscure reference, passing resemblance et al they can. Some of them are downright ludicrous (the Spongebog and Family Guy examples), others are iffy, and a lot are completely unnotable (a character wearing a pikachu shirt in a flashback scene; a pokémon poster in the set decoration for a faming store) .
Honestly, a reference should be explicit (either by actually mentioning pokémon or a specific pokémon or character by name ; by dropping a variant of "Gotta catch' em all" ; or by having something that is clearly and unquestionably meant to represent a specific Pokémon). Background props and extras (the BBT "Poster in the game store" example ; the American Dad "Kid with a Pikachu shirt" example) should probably not be considered notable enough for this list.
The list should also be split to distinguish between actual pokémon references, references to parodies or expy of Pokémon, and appearance by Pokémon in non-fiction entertainment (comedy routines, game shows, reality TV, etc). --[[User:Evil Figment|Evil Figment]] ([[User talk:Evil Figment|talk]]) 06:04, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
