The anime version of the Seafoam Islands is much more populated and has a relatively large town. It is also depicted as having a much warmer climate than in the games, where it is depicted as a beach resort town, rather than a cold, icy location as depicted in the games. Ash goes there to train for the Indigo Plateau Conference; while there, he meets Professor Westwood V, who is researching the evolution of Slowpoke.  He also sees Victor take the local challenge to plant a flag on a large rock sticking out of the ocean. Unlike the games, road/ground travel is possible by a bridge between the island and Fuchsia City. Ferries leave from here and travel to Littleroot Town in the Hoenn region.
The Seafoam Islands first appeared in The Evolution Solution where Ash goes there to train for the Indigo Plateau Conference; while there, he meets Professor Westwood V, who is researching the evolution of Slowpoke.  He also sees Victor take the local challenge to plant a flag on a large rock sticking out of the ocean. Unlike the games, where the Islands are presented as a cold and icy location, it is depicted as having a warm and tropical resort town, with road/ground travel between the island and Fuchsia City by bridge. Ferries leave from here and travel to Littleroot Town in the Hoenn region.

Later, Tracey and Ritchie go there to find Professor Oak after he is kidnapped at the TV Station.
