Prize medals (Japanese: 賞金メダル prize money medal) are a type of collectible acquired in the Z-A Royale in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. They are obtained in battle zones by defeating Trainers, completing tasks on bonus cards, and finding them scattered across battle zones.
Mechanics
If the player loses a battle against a Trainer, the number of prize medals they have in possession will be halved.
Once day breaks and the battle zone deactivates, the player's prize medals are converted to Pokémon Dollars at a rate of $10 per medal. Defeating multiple Trainers in one night multiplies the payout. This payout is affected by the Gold Canari Plush's effect.
| Trainers defeated | Payout multiplier |
|---|---|
| 0–4 | 1.0 |
| 5–9 | 1.5 |
| 10–19 | 2.0 |
| 20–29 | 2.5 |
| 30+ | 3.0 |
The player can carry up to 9,999 prize medals. Therefore, the maximum possible prize money in one Z-A Royale night is $449,955 (with at least 30 victories against Trainers, 9,999 prize medals, and the Gold Canari Plush at level 3).
