The Prize Machine is a feature in Pokémon UNITE used to receive rewards by throwing Poké Balls at the desired reward from a selection of six different prizes. These prizes are randomized from a selection of prizes known as collections, of which there may be multiple to choose from at once. Every day, players receive two Poké Balls to throw for free. After using a Poké Ball, it cannot be used for another 12 hours. This can be mitigated by paying Aeos gems to shorten the cooldown between throws. For every one Aeos gem, the cooldown is shortened by 6 minutes, and the Poké Ball cooldowns can be shortened up to 40 times per day. At the end of the day, all prizes are reset and rotated out for a different selection of prizes from the collection.
During certain events, 100 additional free Poké Balls can be obtained, up to 10 per day. These Poké Balls are referred to as either Anniversary Balls or Holiday Balls depending on the event. When there are multiple collections available to choose from, these will only apply to one designated collection.
Prizes
There are a large variety of prizes that can be obtained from the Prize Machine. These include Holowear, trainer outfits, Unite Snapshot customization options, 7-Day Holowear Rentals, and Boost Emblems. The specific prizes that can be obtained depend on the collections that are currently available to choose from. These collections are themed after previous Battle Pass seasons and are the only way to obtain items from them after the season ends. For each prize, there is a gauge that must be filled by throwing Poké Balls at it. The number of times the player must throw a Poké Ball at the gauge to max it out depends on the prize, with more valuable prizes requiring more Poké Balls. The amount the gauge increases when throwing a Poké Ball varies, as there is a 66% chance it increases by 1 unit, a 30% chance it increases by 2 units, a 3.3% chance to add 3 units, a 0.6% chance to add 5 units, and a 0.1% chance to add 10 units. When a prize gauge is maxed out, the player will obtain that prize.
