Pikachu (Japanese: ピカチュウ Pikachu) is a Lightning-type Basic Pokémon card. It was first released as one of the SVP Black Star Promos.

Release information
This Pikachu card is released with a unique print every year since 2023, each print commemorating the Pokémon World Championships tournament held on the year it is published.
SVP 101 print
This card was first released as one of the SV-P Promotional cards for distribution in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Thailand, to commemorate the 2023 Pokémon World Championships. It was given out between August 1 to 31, 2023 as a participation reward at Pokémon Card Gym events held during this period. This card's print has the 2023 Pokémon World Championships logo on the bottom right corner of the artwork.
This card was later reprinted in English as an SVP Black Star Promotional card for release in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Hong Kong, to coincide with the 2023-24 season of the Pokémon TCG Asia Championship Series. This release features the Pokémon TCG Asia Championship Series 2023-24 logo on the bottom right corner of the artwork. The English print was distributed outside of Asia for Play! Pokémon events held in November 2023 to celebrate the 2024 Pokémon TCG Championship Series. This print features the Play! Pokémon logo on the bottom right corner of the artwork, and was also distributed as a Pokémon Trading Card Game Live code.[1]
In Japan, this card was distributed as a participation prize for Pokémon Card Gym events held between September 2, 2023 and February 29, 2024.
SVP 190 print
This card was released in English as an SVP Black Star Promotional card to commemorate the 2024 Pokémon World Championships. It was available as a purchase bonus at local and online retail locations for the Pokémon TCG, including Pokémon Center, from August 2 – 18, 2024 while supplies last. It could also be received as a participation prize for attending a Worlds Celebration event from August 2 – 18, 2024. Additionally, in the US, the top 100 participants of the 2024 Worlds Fantasy Team contest (August 1 – 15, 2024) obtained the card alongside other prizes including a Stellar Crown Booster Display Box.[2]
In Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Indonesia, this print was given out as a participation reward at Pokémon Card Gym events held from September 1, 2024 onward, while supplies last.[3][4][5]
In Japan, this card was distributed as a participation prize for Pokémon Card Gym events held between September 2, 2024 and December 31, 2024.

SVP 225 print
This card was released in English as an SVP Black Star Promotional card to commemorate the 2025 Pokémon World Championships. It was available at select retailers,[6] and also distributed at Pokémon Leagues during "2025 Worlds Celebration" event tournaments from August 11 through 17, 2025.[7] The winners of each of the Junior, Senior, and Masters division tournaments during these events also received a WINNER stamp variant with a Play! Pokémon logo behind the card text.[7]
In Japan, this card was distributed as a participation prize for Pokémon Card Gym events held between October 1, 2025 and January 31, 2026.[8]

- Each illustration of this Pikachu card commemorates the Pokémon World Championships of the current and previous year, except for the SVP 101 print.
- The SVP 101 print appears to reference artist Jiro Sasumo's winning entry to the 2nd Pokémon Card Game Illustration Grand Prix, S-P Promo Charizard, which features a reverse shot of Charizard in a similar pose and stadium.
- The SVP 190 print features Mew in an allusion to Mew's Revenge, the 2023 World Champion deck by Vance Kelley; and Honolulu, Hawaii, the location of the 2024 Pokémon World Championships.
- The SVP 225 print features Iron Thorns in an allusion to Crushing Thorn, the 2024 World Champion deck by Fernando Cifuentes; and Anaheim, California, the location of the 2025 Pokémon World Championships.
