Calaba (Japanese: ユウガオ Yūgao) is a warden tasked with watching over a special Ursaluna found in the Crimson Mirelands of Hisui. She is a member of the Pearl Clan.
In the core series games
Calaba is a devout member of the Pearl Clan who has watched the clan grow over the years. She is devoted to following traditional values and, for a long time, had an inherent distrust of anyone outside of the clan. The player first encounters her in the Solaceon Ruins after a section of wall is stolen from the ruins by the Miss Fortune sisters. Calaba recognizes the player's feat of quelling the noble Kleavor's frenzy but questions their methods of using balms, comparing it to bullying. Though insistent on refusing any help from the player at first, she expresses gratitude when the player returns the slab to the ruins. She has a change of heart and begins to trust others. She allows the player to confront Ursaluna and quell its rage.
In the post-game, Calaba can be found at Brava Arena. She will allow the player to rematch Lady Lilligant in place of Arezu.
Pokémon
Like most members of the Pearl Clan, Calaba does not keep her Pokémon partner in a Poké Ball.
