Manabu is depressed after putting his all into his Charizard EX Deck and still losing to Arashi. To cheer him up, Uratane shows him the new expansion pack, "Furious Fists", which helps Manabu snap out of his depression. He believes he lost against Arashi because he could not use items; therefore, he asks Uratane to train with him and play with decks with no item cards in them. Manabu builds a deck with a large amount of draw power to get to non-item cards such as "Strong Energy" and "Fighting Stadium". All of this boosts his new Lucario-EX attack, which lets him win against Uratane. However, during their test game, Uratane used an item card, Red Card, which made Manabu furious.
