This character is original to TCG Pocket, but he seems to be an example of someone who searches for Mew, only for it to disappear or teleport away when he approaches. This is demonstrated by the special illustration rare of Mew ex depicting Mew sitting in the rubble right behind where the Budding Expeditioner is standing.
