Rarity (TCG Pocket)
In Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, the rarity of a card determines the likelihood of pulling it from booster packs. Each card's rarity is marked with a symbol in the bottom-left corner of the card.
Though not officially named as such within the app, the majority of rarities used in Pokémon TCG Pocket correspond with a rarity from the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Common cards can be purchased individually for 35 Pack points, and can be traded for no cost other than trade stamina and the card being traded away. If a player receives an additional copy of a common card that they already have, they will receive 20 Shinedust (10 Shinedust prior to July 30, 2025).
Uncommon
Cards with uncommon rarity are marked with two diamonds (![]()
) and usually consist of Stage 1 Pokémon, certain Basic Pokémon—such as those that may be harder to obtain in the core series games—and some Stage 2 Pokémon. Trainer cards, apart from those depicting Fossils, are also of this rarity. Each regular booster pack will always contain two cards that are of uncommon rarity or higher.

Cards with no rarity
Cards released through the Promo-A and Promo-B series are promo cards and have no rarity, although they have values in the game that match those of cards with rarities:
| Promotional card description | Equivalent rarity |
|---|---|
| No special designs | |
| Holofoil borders and illustrations | |
| Standard Pokémon ex cards | |
| Full art illustrated cards | |
| Full art Pokémon ex cards | |
| Cards featuring Shiny Pokémon | |
| Cards featuring Shiny Pokémon ex |
Note that promo Trainer cards (such as the ones buyable from the shop) are equivalent to
rarity, rather than ![]()
like most Trainer cards in other sets.
If a player receives an additional copy of a promo card that they already have, they will receive the same amount of Shinedust as they would for a card of the equivalent rarity. Regardless of their equivalent rarity, promo cards cannot be traded. In solo battles that feature the battle task "Win this battle using a deck where all the Pokémon cards are of
, ![]()
, and/or ![]()
![]()
rarity", a deck that includes any promo card other than a Trainer card will be disqualified from completing that task.
