Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Juan Sanfiel!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • Read over the style primer before making your edits. It is a basic outline of Bulbapedia style. For a more in-depth set of rules, see the manual of style.
  • Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Juan Sanfiel/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! --PsychicRider 19:01, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Inaccurate Information

Please don't go inserting inaccurate information into articles. DP070 does NOT have a confirmed dub title. Wikipedia can be edited by morons, idiots, blockheads, and the like.

Additionally, I'm certain that Cassidy called for Granbull to use Fire Fang in the dub, yet you're insisting it was Fire Bend. Sure, closed captioning isn't always 100% accurate, but there's little reason to doubt it when it comes to Pokémon attacks. And I'm pretty certain Nintendo wouldn't mess up an attack that clearly shows a flaming bite--Firebending uses arms.

Keep inserting inaccurate stuff like this and you could find yourself blocked. --Shiningpikablu252 21:35, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Also, dude, black belt in karate? Don't you know that you can learn that from the Internet? And that it doesn't matter to us what you can do to your computer screen? TTEchidna 04:20, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

"More credits" Coding

Woopert put that coding in the infoboxes for a reason. You had no reason to strip that code out. If there's a code that allows "More credits" to be displayed, leave it, it's there for a reason. Please don't strip such coding from a template again. --Shiningpikablu252 16:42, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

I mean it. Don't remove the coding that allows an episode to link to an existing anime staff page. Doing so will make it appear that no additional credits are avilable when they really are. Remove the "morecredits" and/or "epstaffpage" fields from an infobox one more time and there will be consequences. --Shiningpikablu252 17:36, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

I don't really get what you are saying... --Juan Sanfiel 15:09, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Section titles

Like article titles, they should be in standard case. Like a sentence, not a book title. Meaning only the first word should be capital unless one of the later words is a proper noun. TTEchidna 18:47, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Userpage creation

Sounds like you've got the "use external editor by default" option checked off in your preferences. Go there, and under then "Editing" tab, make sure that option is unchecked. You should be able to edit the page normally once that's done... -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 15:22, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Please

Slow down on editing the User: namespace. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. Instead of making multiple small edits, why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page. Thank you. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 17:27, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Anime Genders

Please don't go inserting genders for anime Pokémon unless they're confirmed in the show itself. The source you were citing on the genders of May's Pokémon, Pokéani, is a fansite and is thus uncredible when it comes to anime Pokémon genders. Odds are the one who says Munchlax is May's only male is wrong, especially given how May's team is five-sevenths Pokémon with gender ratios of 87.5% male. So far, May has only two outright gender-confirmeds in Venusaur and Skitty, both female; in addition, the dub has Wartortle confirmed as male, but that's not confirmed in the original Japanese version. --Shiningpikablu252 15:08, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Knock it off

Seriously. Stop replacing the episode pictures with a screenshot of some random person in it. The old lady DOES NOT reflect the plot of the episode. Do it again and consider yourself blocked. --ケンジガール 05:16, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

platinum

how can you be a player of platinum already? do you work for nintendo? Lord of Origami 14:04, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Link templates

They're easier to use than anything else. Please use them. TTEchidna 06:48, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
