The female trainer
The female trainer is a character of the day who appears in One Trick Phony!. Her Japanese voice actor is こおろぎさとみ Satomi Kōrogi.
She battles Ash with her Smoochum, Josephine. She says that nothing makes her day like a brand new chance to beat another opponent. However, she stops the battle after Josephine gets hit with Pikachu's Quick Attack. She lets her Smoochum rest after their "intense battle," and then tells Ash, Misty, and Brock about the Battle Park so that Ash can battle more Pokémon and trainers.

Trivia
- When Ash's Pikachu attacks Josephine, it can be heard saying "Jo", part of its nickname, rather than its name Smoochum.
