A Theme Deck, also known as a Preconstructed Deck, is a playing deck of Pokémon Trading Card Game cards sold pre-packaged. Most Theme Decks are designed with a specific strategy (such as hoarding Energy) or theme (such as Electric/Psychic) in mind.

In Japan, there were only a handful of Theme or even full decks, most were made to introduce players to the game. It was only with the release of the ADV Expansions and beyond that decks were assigned with an Expansion set. These are not Theme Decks however, they are Half Decks (all releases are listed in that category rather than this).

The majority of Expansions in the TCG have two or four Theme Decks affiliated with the set. Notable exceptions to this are Neo Revelation, which has no Theme Decks and EX Crystal Guardians, which has three.

The Preconstructed Theme Decks tend to focus on cards from the set it is released in conjunction with, while Special Theme Decks may use cards from several recent sets, or contain unique cards.
