I have here the English translations of the Join Avenue images from the English Version. I'm sorry for the visual aides because I don't know how to put them here but I put up links. Source: Pokemon.com/BlackWhite2 -PKMNFan21597 (talk) 08:09, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

NPC specifics?

A few things I've noticed/wondered about them. Can anyone answer/verify?

  • They seem to go through the avenue once per day, but seem to disappear for a while (probably 24 hours, at least) if you change the clock on the DS. Sort of like Game Sync.
  • Shops seem to re-stock when they're upgraded.
  • Is there a pattern to what type of NPCs you'll get visiting (trainer class sprites, shops they'll open, shops they'll enjoy, etc.), as in hard-coded NPCs or settings from the other person's save file? Or just random?
  • Also, the pages for very rare berries (Salac, Apicot, some of those) you can buy them on Join Avenue. Is that when you get to the Flower Market to a really high level?

Dimenticare (talk) 16:17, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

From what I've seen so far:
  • 3 NPC visiters per day.
  • Shops restock every time the days restarts (doesn't have to be 24 hours), although I haven't bothered checking if they restock after upgrading. I normally talk to the visiting NPCs first thing when I get there so they don't walk out the door.
  • The visiting NPCs are randomly chosen, and there are at least 2 names per trainer class sprite. Everything about them changes every day, such as Invite, Recommend, and if you get a rare customer who visits multiple shops out of excitement. They can visit anywhere from one extra shop ("This isn't what I had in mind...", so they don't continue) to every shop that has been set up so far, with the gained Popularity points increasing each shop visited.
  • I assume that you will eventually be able to buy nearly any berry at the Flower Market, since that appears the only way to get berries from somewhere other than the Rangers that hand out status berries. So far I'm only level 3 and I don't know how high you have to get the level.
R.A. Hunter Blade 17:04, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
About the NPC's: when you start the Avenue there are 3 per day, but as the shop increases in level, more NPC's will come per day (at this moment, my Avenue is at level 7 or so and 6 NPC's visit the Avenue per day). ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 17:08, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
That's interesting... I'm level 5 and I still have only 3. There are a lot of random people standing inside that ask questions, but I've only had 3 that actually visit shops. I do have an extra from "meeting" another person, but I don't consider them an NPC. R.A. Hunter Blade 17:18, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
With NPC's I really mean the people who you can invite and redirect to a shop. Maybe it has something to do with the levels of your shops too. When your shops reaches level 4, it'll change in appearance. If I remember correctly, after I upgraded one of my shops to level 4 (while already having almost every other shop at level 4), the number of NPC's increased from 5 to 6. Don't know if it really has something to do with that though. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 18:30, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
What about the communications stuff? Is there 1 visitor per Dream Pal/Pal Pad entry/GTS acquaintance? Dimenticare (talk) 20:06, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
The shop upgrades are probably why. Most of mine are either 2 or 3. As for the "player" visitors, I'm pretty sure it's 1 per meeting. R.A. Hunter Blade 22:02, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Dojo

In the Dojo, you can give Pokémon level ups or stat boosts. Do I assume the stat boosts are Effort Values, since you can't give them to party members past certian points, like Vitamins? Dimenticare (talk) 20:50, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Yes, they are EVs, as are the boosts from the Café. R.A. Hunter Blade 22:04, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
Do they raise EVs by as much as vitamins (10 EVs, but unable to go past 100)? Also, how about the "Power Lunch" at the Deli? It claims to raise a "base" stat "a lot" when a pokemon eats it, but by how much is "a lot"? I am assuming this is also referring to EVs. Tk3141 (talk) 00:39, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
There are different deli meals and whatnot; I'm pretty sure the more intense-sounding meals give you more EVs than others. Serebii says some give you insane amounts like 20 or 48 [1]. Sure seems like they're trying to make it easier to train in these more recent Pokemon games. Dimenticare (talk) 10:15, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
Each listing has a level associated with it (12, 24, 48, etc.). This is the # of EVs given by that training. I don't think the café's lunches are listed by level, but they use the same wording (a lot, a little, etc.) as the Dojo, and can probably be cross-referenced. --Icbat (talk) 16:17, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Nursery

Is it even confirmed that Nurseries can be formed? I have not encountered anyone who wants to set one up, and we don't have whatever is said to indicate that they want to set one up. As my Avenue stands right now, I have a spot dedicated to the eventual formation of a Nursery (where a raffle shop currently stands). Is it a guide, Serebii, or a game dump which informed us of Nurseries? --TruePikachu (talk) 23:23, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

What level is your avenue? According to Serebii, you can open up a Nursery when your avenue is level 15. Serebii is not an official source but is mostly right on such matters. I can't confirm it myself yet, my avenue is level 10. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 23:32, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
Ah, let me check <commands Driftblim to use Fly> 9. That explains it, assuming Serebii is correct. At some point, the numbers should be on the page, but I don't know everything that has to be done to migrate from Serebii. --TruePikachu (talk) 03:53, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
Please read the top banner. "Use reliable sources and do not steal from other websites." He doesn't like it when we take his stuff (even though he is a user here) so you're going to have to come up with your own research and proof. --Abcboy (talk) 03:58, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
Nope it shouldn't be taken from Serebii indeed. Someone has to find out for themselves (as for me, it probably will take some time until I've reached level 15) ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 09:28, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
The requisites are that you reach level 15 and that you have defeated the champion. Bluesun (talk) 20:23, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I can now confirm that this is correct. --TruePikachu (talk) 23:56, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Time changing/DS swapping effect

I feel this is something for the article, though I'm not sure of the best way to add it to the page. When you change the DS clock, or use a different DS, Join Avenue 'locks down' for something like 2-3 days, where all of the services are sold out. Presumably to prevent cheating by resetting the clock to the next day. Since Daylight Savings Time just changed in the US, this affected me and took some googling to find that it was expected. --Icbat (talk) 16:20, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Good, I'm not going crazy. This happened to me, too. I can see why they'd do it, though: if you can talk to people and buy stuff at stores and change the DS clock just a few times a day, think of how many EVs, levels, Apicot Berries, Heart Scales and all the other things you'd be able to get in a few short hours. People would hang out there instead of training. Dimenticare (talk) 19:27, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
I can say that it is NOT '2-3 days' - just recently, we had Daylight Savings change over, and I would say that it is 1-2 days. Specifically, (I don't have confirmation), it is likely that services will be availible again the midnight after 24 hours have passed since changing the clock - if you change the clock to 6AM Monday, this would mean Wednesday will have services. Someone who doesn't mind messing their clock up should confirm this. --TruePikachu (talk) 23:55, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

In-game NPCs and stores

Are we positive that the NPCs have universal default dreams or are they randomly generated-and/or-distributed? The article mentions Anneli and Jenna wanting to open the same shops in the author's game, but would those same NPCs want to open up Dojos in my game, for example? And if their dreams are preprogrammed, would they open up the Dojo with the same services they did in the author's game or is that randomized? Because if it's entirely hardcoded, listing the NPCs who correlate to which shop and which services would be a good idea, but if we aren't sure, the lines about Anneli+Jenna and Jaylen+Jess need to be reworded to sound more theoretical and not definitive. Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 14:23, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Most of the information in the games, regarding NPCs, is NOT randomly generated. While I have not looked at dumps of the information yet, there are certainly people who have. However, you might be on to something with Join Avenue - a quick look at Serebii reveals that they lack a section about NPCs on the Avenue. I personally have also wondered this, if the NPCs are databased or procedurally generated. I'll reword it for now, but eventually we will need to either have a table of NPCs or a piece of trivia that states that the NPCs are procedurally generated. FWIW, I _can_ start databasing the NPCs I find, but I won't unless it is needed. --TruePikachu (talk) 01:50, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
Actually... R.A. Hunter Blade 02:15, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that is actually why I just came here to this talk page again. We can't directly copy from Serebii; I don't know, but I think it is OK to paraphrase it all _after_ we have confirmation that the information is correct - I'd say confirming 95%, but others might say 85%. I am not an authority on this. --TruePikachu (talk) 23:51, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
I can't vouch for specific variants of shops(a,b,c,d), as I only just recently started collecting data on join avenue, but thus far all of the NPCs have wanted to open shops in line with the chart in this article. So I'm +1 to confirm each character at least wants to open a shop of the listed type. Tarilaan (talk) 07:01, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

On the item pages

Should the Avenue be mentioned on the item pages? --Abcboy (talk) 02:07, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

Excited customers

Has anybody had more than two customers visit multiple shops in one day? So far I've only seen two, but I'm not sure if it can be three, four, or if there's even a limit. For all I know every customer could go to every shop, but that'd be a super lucky streak to get. R.A. Hunter Blade 05:46, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Super lucky I am. I had some ridiculously excited customer who went to all my shops a few days ago. --Abcboy (talk) 05:53, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
I mean, I know they can do that, haha. But I got two of those customers in one day. I was trying to find out if anybody has had more than two customers do that in one day. R.A. Hunter Blade 05:57, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
That? My avenue's rank is still some one-digit number, so can't help you there. Sorry for the misunderstanding. --Abcboy (talk) 06:00, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Profit

Should it be noted that you can make money off of Join Avenue? Even with consolation prize of hard stones in the antique shop could net some serious cash. And buying the mulch could make you quite a bit of money. And there other examples. Is that notable or not? --Dman dustin (talk) 08:46, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

Generally, from what I have seen, game strategy usually isn't mentioned, but I'm not staff or anything.Micamike45 (talk) 23:06, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Join Avenue Promotions

I noticed there is no mention of Join Avenue promotions, not even on the other major Pokemon info sites. All 8 of my Avenue's shops reached Rank 10, which triggered a 7-day long "promotion". Here are some pictures to show this:

Shopkeeper talking about promotion.

Picture says 6 days, but it was initially at 7.

All shop items and services are heavily discounted. These are prices at my mart at Avenue Rank 36 with Promotion discount.

Raffle Shop gives you an extra item draw during promotion.

In-game item descriptions

Should they be included here? For example, next to Super Bog Box from the Antique Shop, it would say "A container with something inside. It's very heavy. Get it appraised to find out what's inside." --Abcboy (talk) 05:59, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Judging by the prices, I think the Secret Dishes (priced between the Training L32 and L64 in the dojos, and the prices of equivalent services are usually consistent between the different shops) give you 48 EVs in whatever stat instead of 32. Also, this is an example of my Dojo Rank 10.

Training L4, 3, 2 and 1 +4/3/2/1 levels.
DF, SpA L64 +64 DF/SpA EVs.
SpD, SpE L32 +32 SpD/SpE EVs.
HP, DF L24 +24 HP/DF EVs.
DF, SpA L16 +16 DF/SpA.
SpD, SpE L8 +8 SpD, SpE EVs.
HP, SK L4 +4 HP, AK EVs.

Also, there is this page for table code. Dimenticare (talk) 00:57, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

Condition For Extra Market Items

My game has already beaten the elite 4, and the join avenue market did not have the bonus items such as revives, hyper potions, and max repels. I just hit avenue rank 15 today and these items were added, so that's clearly a trigger for them. however, the hall of fame requirement already listed on this page is something i can't confirm as also being required, so someone who has an avenue of at least rank 15 and hasn't beaten the hall of fame, please check to see if the aforementioned items are available to confirm whether or not the hall of fame is a requirement.
