The Pokémon franchise first reached Denmark in 2000, with the first broadcast of Pokémon - Jeg vælger dig! in Danish. In Denmark, Bergsala A/S owns the franchise.

Event Pokémon distributed in Denmark include Europe Movie 11 Shaymin in 2009 and Europe Michina Arceus in 2010.
Pokémon anime
The Pokémon anime is broadcasted on Disney XD, previously known as Fox Kids and then Jetix, and TV2 in Denmark. The season Pokémon: Battle Frontier was not sent after the Pokémon: Advanced Battle season, but was just skipped and went directly to Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl. After they had sent in Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl, they sent Battle Frontier.
In Denmark they deleted Who's That Pokémon? in Season 1 and 2, because of a hidden commercial. This meant that one had to buy the games to know the names of the Pokémon. Who's That Pokémon? did appear in the VHS tapes that were released in Denmark.

Cast and crew
Mathias Klenske is a Danish Dubber, and is most known for his role as Ash Ketchum, but have dubbed other roles in Pokémon too like Lance and Paul in DP001. Misty was dubbed by Lulu Jacobsen in the first two seasons, Simone Drechsler in season 7 and Annevig Schelde Ebbe in season 6 and 8. Annevig Schelde Ebbe is they voice by both May and Dawn in the Danish dub. Brock was dubbed by Peter Holst-Beck, he was the danish voice by Arceus too. Max was dubbed by Mikkel Følsgaard, he is also the danish voice by Gary inseason 1-2 and 6, Drew in season 6 and Richie.
The danish version is dubbed by Dubberman AS. Ii is unkown who there are translating the anime, but it was reaviled that Pokemon Heroes was translated by Dorte Langberg, and Jirachi Wish Maker and Destiny Deoxys was translated by Thomas Maintz.
Music
Two Pokémon soundtrack albums were released on CD in Denmark. The first, Pokémon, Du skal fange dem!, is a translation of Pokémon 2.B.A. Master. The second, Pokémon 3: Det Ultimative Soundtrack, is a translation of Pokémon 3: The Ultimate Soundtrack. A translation of Totally Pokémon has not been released, likely because most of the songs are also available on the movie 3 soundtrack.

PokeTeam is a Danish website with a focus on finding Pokémon related news items and translating them into Danish. After the official Danish Pokémon forum closed, many fans turned to PokeTeam as the best substitute for the forum.

- In 2009 like Germany, Italy and Netherlands, Denmark held Pokémon Day 2009, but it was really small. The onlly thing you could was to download shaymin, be in a drawing contest and wath the danish version of Pokemon The rise of darkrai. It will properly not be held agien in Denmark
