Pokémon Ranger Batonnage (Japanese: ポケモンレンジャー バトナージ) is an action-adventure game for the Nintendo DS and the sequel to Pokémon Ranger. It is set to be released in Japan on March 20, 2008.
The game is set in a new region called Allumia where the base of operations is a Ranger School that the main characters has just graduated from when the game begins. Instead of just Plusle and Minun, the selection of Starter Pokémon has risen to a choice between 17 different species. The game adds sidequests to the formula and uses a card collection system to power up the Capture Styler.
Known Information
- It takes place in the reigion of Arumia. As the game's storyline starts, the player charecter has just graduated from Pokémon Ranger School.
- The player can choose to play as a male or a female protagonist. The male protagonist is known as Hajime.
- The game features 4th Generation Pokémon and the ominous Pokémon of the game seems to be Darkrai.
- You will have a selectable Pokémon partner. known selectable partners include Munchlax, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Kricketot, Mime Jr., Cranidos, Shieldon, Croagunk, Machop, Pachirisu, Starly, Hippopotas,Snover, Misdreavus, Sneasel, and Gible. It is interesting to note that one Pokémon is of each of the 17 types of Pokémon.
- The game has optional, non-story-progressing missions called quests where the player helps citizens of town.
- A system of cards that are collectable can power up the Capture Styler.
- You are able to surf on Pokémon in controlled environments.
- The game will somehow utilize Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
