Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen are Generation III games that are set in Kanto, with the addition of the Sevii Islands.

These versions are remakes of Pokémon Red and Blue, and include many of the same characters, plot elements, and challenges, but with several important upgrades, including:

Also initially included in the box with every game was one GBA Wireless Adaptor, eliminating the need for link cables when trading between the two games (and later Emerald).

These games were named for the original two Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Green, and feature the same Pokémon on the boxart as their Generation I counterparts. Storyline

Following essentially the same plot as Pokémon Red and Blue/Green, the player starts in Pallet Town, there homwtown, and attempt to leave via the northern grass to be stopped by Proffesor Oak. He gives the player and there rival a Starter Pokémon, either Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtal, as in Pokémon Red and Blue/Green. They then recieve a package for Oak in Viridian City, and upon delivering it recieve there Pokédex, and Pokéballs, allowing them to start building up a strong team. The player then journeys to get the 8 Pokémon League Badges, and become the Pokémon League Champion.

The player firsts go to Pewter City, and defeats Brock, who uses Rock-type Pokémon. They then traverse through Mt. Moon, and arrive in Cerulean City. Here they meet the Pokémaniac Bill, and fight there rival for a second or thrid time. They also fight the second Gym Leader, Misty here, who uses Water-type Pokémon, and get the next badge.
