The contents of the game

Pokémon Champion Island is a board game based on the Pokémon anime. It is a DVD board game featuring interactive content that can be used concurrently with the game to enhance the game experience.

Pokémon Champion Island can be played by two to four players. The objective of the game is to travel through the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn regions, collect and train Pokémon, answer trivia questions, and battle against the three Pokémon Academies. It has 60 wild Pokémon disks, 13 trained Pokémon disks, and 12 Academy crests.

A special edition of Pokémon Champion Island was also released with 40 additional capturable Pokémon.
