Template:Infobox town Olivine City (Japanese: アサギシティ Asagi City) is located on the Johto coast, near Ecruteak City and Cianwood City.

Pokémon Trainers often come to Olivine City in order to win the Mineral Badge from Jasmine, the Olivine Gym Leader who specializes in Template:Type2 Pokémon.

Places of interest

Sparkling Lighthouse

Olivine is home to the Sparkling Lighthouse, illuminated by an Ampharos, aptly named Amphy. In Generation II, upon reaching Olivine City, Amphy is ill, and Jasmine refuses to leave his side until a special medicine arrives from Cianwood City with the help of the player.

S.S. Aqua

Olivine Port has a ferry to Vermilion City, the S.S. Aqua.

Olivine Café

Olivine Café is a restaurant that is west to the Pokémon Center, and a sailor who eats there gives away the HM Strength.

Demographics

Olivine City's population is 27, which is fairly high for a port city in Pokémon games.

Name origin

An olive is a type of fruit, however, it does not grow on a vine. The name also may come from the mineral olivine, which, when gem quality, is known as peridot. Asagi means ligh yellow (浅黄) or light blue (浅葱).
