This card was released as one of the {{TCG|Nintendo Black Star Promos}}, available first in the {{TCGMerch|EX|Series|Value Box}}, released in October 2006, then as one of two possible promotional cards offered in the {{TCGMerch|EX|Series|Trainer's Challenge Set}}, released in late 2006. In Japan, it was released as an insert with the Mew-themed Official Card File, available at participating {{wp|Toys "R" Us}} and {{wp|Ito-Yokado}} stores during the month of June 2005. This card was reprinted in Japan as another one of the {{TCG|PCG-P Promotional cards}} with new artwork by the same artist as part of a McDonald's campaign in July 2005.
