History

Sprigatito and Liko

Sprigatito debuted in HZ001, when Liko received it as her starter Pokémon by the Indigo Academy. At first, Sprigatito and Liko didn't get along well, with the Grass Cat Pokémon scratching its Trainer's hand and running off to its own. In its battle debut against Ann's Oshawott, Sprigatito didn't listen to Liko's instructions, which led to it getting hit by a Water Gun.

During the next days, Liko worked hard to strengthen her bond with Sprigatito by learning more about it and make it listen to her instructions in battle, but to little avail. When Amethio first approached Liko, Sprigatito immediately got suspicious of him and led its Trainer to the school's rooftop. It then went up against Zir's Rhydon and won after subduing it with its aroma. After being rescued by Friede, they were taken aboard his airship with the other members of the Rising Volt Tacklers, but were soon confronted by Amethio and his teammates. When Liko was about to give herself up, Sprigatito started yelling at her, making her realize she has been lying to herself. Then, Sprigatito followed Liko's instructions and unleashed a Leafage strong enough to break the forcefield around Wing Deck, but got blown overboard in the process, which allowed the Explorers to capture it before fleeing.

In HZ003, Sprigatito was kept in a warehouse with Conia, who had taken a liking to Sprigatito and was giving it food and toys. With the help of Murdock's Rockruff, Liko was able to locate Sprigatito, only to be confronted by Conia and her Skarmory. Sprigatito was able to blind Conia and Skarmory with Leafage, allowing them to escape. Sprigatito and its Trainer then joined the Rising Volt Tacklers as official members.

Personality and characteristics

Sprigatito's scent putting Rhydon to sleep

Sprigatito has shown to be brave, headstrong, and somewhat reckless. However, unlike its species, Sprigatito is neither the affectionate type nor an attention-seeker but can be only when it wants to be. Despite its initial coldness towards its Trainer and those around it, Sprigatito grew to care for Liko after she spent time to better understand its habits. Although caring, it does not like receiving affection, though it will be tolerant with Liko when she does so. It's shown to be able to make new friends easily and likes to have fun.

Sprigatito is capable of releasing a sweet scent from its paws that relaxes those who smell it. As shown in its battle against Zir's Rhydon, it is strong enough to put a Pokémon to sleep in the middle of a battle. Sunbathing will strengthen the power of its sweet scent. It has also been shown using Leafage to blind opponents on multiple occasions.
