The Fighting Dojo is a training location for Fighting-trainers. in Saffron City.

In the Games

In the games, it is stated that the Fighting Dojo and the Saffron Gym once battled about who should be the Gym in Saffron to be the sixth gym in Kanto.

In the Generation I games and their Generation III remakes, the unofficial gym is fully open. In the building there are three Black Belt-students, with their master, the Karate Master, who in the remakes is named Koichi (Japanese: タケノリ Takenori). The reward for winning over him is to choose between Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan.

In the Generation II games, only one of the students is left and the Fighting Dojo is at that time, much like Safari Zone, temporary closed down. The Fighting Master, here named Kiyo (Japanese: ノブヒコ Nobuhiko), can be found training in Johto's Mt. Mortar. The reward for winning over him is a Tyrogue who can evolve into either one of the Pokémon he gave away inte other games; plus Hitmontop.

In the anime

The GSC Karate Master Kiyo appeard in the episode A Tyrogue Full of Trouble, however, here he dosen't seem to be related to the Fighting Dojo.

The first real appearance of the dojo was however in Pasta La Vista! with the logan "The Strongest Pokémon at the Pokémon Dojo.". Master Hamm wanted that Kyle Hamm, his child, should take over the dojo. When Ash and Max got in, he ordered them to clean the floor. Later, Terry aswell challenged the master. In the end, Kyle ended up running both the dojo and his Noodle restaurant, while the master decided to travel all around the world, selling noodles.
