Due to the fact that this card's name and, at the time of Power Charge's original Expedition Base Set release, effect slightly differed from Power Charge, it was ruled that "Energy Charge" and "Power Charge" were not the same card in the English-language printings. {{pmin|France|French}}, {{pmin|Portugal|Portugese}}, {{pmin|Brazil|Brazilian}}, and {{pmin|Spain|Spanish}} prints of Power Charge still bore the name Energy Charge however. A similar situation would later affect {{TCG ID|Neo Genesis|Moo-Moo Milk|101}} from Neo Genesis and {{TCG ID|HeartGold & SoulSilver|Moomoo Milk|94}} from {{TCG|HeartGold & SoulSilver}}, where slight differences in name and effect resulted in a ruling saying they were two different cards.
