Drifloon On the Wind! (Japanese: フワンテと北風の使い! Fuwante and the Messenger of the North Wind!) is the 28th episode of Diamond & Pearl. It first aired in Japan on April 12, 2007 as part of a one-hour special with DP029, and in the United States on September 15, 2007

The group arrive at at a Pokémon Center run by a Nurse Joy and her daughters, Marnie and Paige. Paige takes Ash to a cave in the forest where a secret friend of her and her sister lives.

Trivia

• It was revealed that "Joy" is the nurse's family rather than given name. Marnie's full name is Marnie Francis Lynnette Joy (Sayaka François Joy in Japan), and Paige's full name is Paige Francis Lynnelle Joy (Mai François Joy in Japan).
• Pokettari Monsutari and music from Lucario and the Mystery of Mew and Destiny Deoxys are used as background music.
• The episode contains many references to My Neighbor Totoro, with Sayaka (Marnie) = Satsuki and Mai (Paige) = Mei.
• Pokémon senryū is about Poffin making: かきまぜろ　こがさずこぼさず　ポフィンづくり Stir it, without burning or spilling: Poffin-making.
• Nurse Joys keep their surname in marriage.

Errors

• In Time Warner Cable's description for this episode, the episode title was "Driftoon On The Wind!".

Dub edits

• The opening scene that shows Ash, Brock and Dawn traveling to Eterna City (and heading to the Pokémon Center) was cut from the dub for reasons unknown. Instead, a cold-open format shows Paige getting carried away by the wind, along with the Drifloon.
