Rounds

Burst Heart Survival is a tournament consisting of several rounds, and all entrants are required to have the ability to use Burst. Each round consists of a different game that the contestants, called "players" (Japanese: 選手), must beat in order to progress onto the next round.

Round 1

Suddenly Bottomless Survival

The first round is known as "Suddenly Bottomless Survival" (Japanese: いきなり底抜けサバイバル). The floor around the competitors suddenly breaks apart and they must use their Burst to prevent themselves from falling into the abyss below. Those who succeed in staying above the abyss are allowed to go onto the next round.

Round 2

Box Escape Survival

The second round is named "Box Escape Survival" (Japanese: ボックス脱出サバイバル). The contestants must pull a piece of paper labeled with the letters A to H out of a ballot box. Any two who pulled matching letters are put into giant sized boxes labeled with the same letter and are required to break out of them.

Once inside, they are required to push the two buttons found in the box or defeat their opponent in order to be freed and progress to the next stage.

Round 3

Add-up-to-ten Survival

"Add-up-to-ten Survival" (Japanese: 足し算10点サバイバル) is the name of the third round. The contestants are given numbered medals and must confront and take the medals of the other contestants. Once the numbers on the medals add up to the number 10 or more, the player must go to a certain spot in order to make it to the next stage.

Round 4

Seesaw Balloon Survival

The Semi-final round is known as "Seesaw Balloon Survival" (Japanese: シーソー風船サバイバル). The contestants stand up on a giant seesaw with spikes on the bottom. The players are required to battle each other in order to push one side of the seesaw onto a balloon with their face drawn on it. Whoever gets their balloon popped loses the battle and is eliminated.

Round 5

Fair and Square Final Match

The final round is known as "Fair and Square Final Match" (Japanese: ガチンコ一本勝負). The contestants are put on a large stage that is floating on top of water. Unlike the previous rounds, this round has no special gimmicks; those who participate are required to just battle in a one-on-one straight match.
