Bandai Namco Holdings Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社バンダイナムコホールディングス Kabushiki gaisha Bandai Namuko Hōrudingusu) is a Japanese entertainment company, founded on September 29, 2005, by the merger of Namco and Bandai.[1] Namco, formed in 1955, was well known for their arcade games, particularly with their earlier titles with Pac-Man, Galaxian, Dig Dug, and The Tower of Druaga. Namco would later produce Tekken, Tales, and Soulcalibur. Bandai, formed in 1950, is well known for producing toys, and had developed video games based on licensed properties. They were known for their digital pet franchises Tamagotchi and Digimon.

Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社バンダイナムコエンターテインメント Kabushiki gaisha Bandai Namuko Entāteinmento), formally Namco Bandai Games Inc. and Bandai Namco Games Inc., is a a Japanese multinational video game publisher owned by Bandai Namco Holdings, founded on March 31, 2006, after the merger of Namco and Bandai.[2] In April 2012, video game development operations were spun off into a new wholly-owned subsidiary, Namco Bandai Studios Inc. (later known as Bandai Namco Studios) while in 2018, the company transferred its amusement machine division to the BNHD incarnation of Namco and renaming itself to Bandai Namco Amusement.

Banpresto
Banpresto Co., Ltd. (Japanese: 株式会社バンプレスト Kabushiki gaisha Banpuresuto) was a Japanese video game developer, publisher and toy company headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Banpresto was a partly-owned subsidiary of Bandai from 1989 to 2006, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Namco Bandai Holdings from 2006 to 2008. In November 2007, Namco Bandai Holdings announced that Banpresto's video game development would be merged with Namco Bandai Games (now Bandai Namco Entertainment), with the latter assuming control of all Banpresto-owned franchises. As of 2019, the toy operations are handled by Bandai Spirits.
