Trivia
- Because the Sky is There replaces Polka O Dolka as the ending.
- This episode was aired in English exactly one year after its Japanese airdate.
- With the exception of Porygon2 (which may never appear in the anime after the incident involving its Template:P2); as of this episode every Generation II Pokémon has appeared in the anime.
- The Japanese voice artists for all three of Ash's female traveling companions are featured in this episode and the previous one; Mayumi Iizuka and KAORI voice Misty and May respectively and Megumi Toyoguchi, who voices Princess Sara in this episode, went on to play Dawn during the Diamond & Pearl series.
- This episode has the distinction of being one of three featuring the most leads in a single episode. It features May, Max, Togepi, Misty, Brock, Jessie, James, Meowth, and, of course, Ash and Pikachu. The only leads to not appear in this episode are Tracey, and Dawn and her Piplup, who wouldn't appear for another 147 episodes. The other two are The Princess and the Togepi, the first part of this episode, and The Right Place and the Right Mime.
Errors
- In one scene, May's hair overlaps Misty's arm, even though May was standing farther back then her.
