Template:Incomplete synopsis
During a training match against Ash’s Grovyle, Brock’s Mudkip evolves into Marshtomp and with its new power injures a nearby Flaaffy. They offer to help Flaaffy, but it turns out the girl, Mariah, has a Grandma that owns a pharmacy nearby. At the pharmacy, Flaaffy is healed. Ash and the others then learn that Grandma Katie has a student named McCauley that is learning the secrets behind medicine. Meanwhile, Team Rocket decides to steal all of Katie’s medicine...

Trivia
- Pokémon Symphonic Medley plays when Mariah and McCauley create medicine for Pikachu and Mareep, who had been injured by Mud Shot.
- The dub title is a spoof of the old saying "A Chip Off the Old Block."
- Marshtomp and Flaaffy are both in the Monster Egg Group, meaning that they can indeed breed.
Errors
- Max incorrectly calls Mud Shot an Earth-type attack. However, this error was corrected for all subsequent airings.
- In one of the scenes shortly after Flaaffy was healed, Ash's gloves were skin-toned, making it appear as if he only had green wristbands on.
