Trivia

  • Music from The Rise of Darkrai and Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea is used as background music.
  • The Celestic Ribbon was shown the same way as the Aqua Ribbon.
  • Swinub, using its head, is shown to be cheering for the first time.
  • Jessie, disguised as Jessalina, dresses up like Fantina for this episode's contest.
  • James and Meowth wore the same outfits they wore in Gymbaliar!.
  • This is Yanmega's first contest. The appeal it uses in this episode is also similar to the appeal that Dustox used to get Jessie ahead in the contest that she won.
  • This is the first time Dawn wins a ribbon in which the events of the contest take place in one episode.
  • It is implied that ribbons never expire, and that multiple years can be used to collect the needed five ribbons for the Grand Festival. However, after competing in the Festival, the five cannot be used in another competition.
  • Professor Oak's Pokémon lecture: Starly
