Battling the Generation Gap (Japanese: ポケモンコンテスト！カンナギ大会!! Pokémon Contest! Kannagi Tournament!!) is the 95th episode of the Diamond & Pearl series, and the 561st episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired in Japan on September 25, 2008, as a part of a one-hour special with DP094 and will air in the United States on February 21, 2009.

Synopsis

• This is Yanmega's first contest. The appeal it uses in this episode is also similar to the appeal that Dustox used to get Jessie ahead in the contest that she won.
• This is the first time Dawn wins a ribbon in which the events of the contest take place in one episode.
• It is implied that ribbons never expire, and that multiple years can be used to collect the needed five ribbons for the Grand Festival. However, after competing in the Festival, the five cannot be used in another competition.
