Roy's Wattrel (Japanese: ロイのカイデン Roy's Kaiden) is the first Pokémon Roy caught in Paldea, and his second overall.
In the anime
History
Wattrel debuted in episode HZ013. As Roy was about to give Fuecoco a second hand of a sandwich, it quickly snatched it out of his hands. As they were about to battle, Roy realize it could be hungry, leading him to share half of the sandwich with it. Unfortunately, it ate Fuecoco's share of his portion, leaving Fuecoco upset.
In the following episode, Roy decides to return back to where they first met Wattrel.
Personality and characteristics
In HZ013, Fuecoco gladly gave half of the sandwich but with it's cunning behavior it left Fuecoco off guard eating what is left of his sandwich. Afterwards, Liko suggests that Wattrel is also glutton, similar to Fuecoco.
In HZ014, despite being a flying type Pokémon, it's revealed to have a fear of heights, with the help of Roy it tried it's best to be persistent and practice on facing it'd fear by jumping from a small ledge.
