Aipom and Circumstance (Japanese: エイパムと王様! Eipam and the King!) is episode 182 of Advanced Generation. It was first broadcast in Japan on July 6, 2006.
Synopsis
On their way to the Battle Pyramid, Ash & co come across a town where the locals are looking for a new king to lead them. In doing so they run an event and whoever wins it will be king for a year. However Ash's newly captured Aipom manages to get stuck with the crown. Will Ash be able to retrieve the crown and keep the event going?

Trivia
- In the Japanese version of the episode, Ash's Aipom was identified as female by May.
- While the term "king" is usually only applied to males, the system shown in this episode applies to both genders as a woman says that she wanted to be king when the crown is stuck on Aipom's head.
