Koffing

Um, isn't it a little soon to put that she has a Koffing in game?? The anime has been shown to change gym leaders pokemon before after all. If anything we should just mention that she has a Koffing in the anime section should we not??RBK 03:14, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

We always hide anime Pokémon, but Koffing is there. Also, her gym in-game has a sign with Koffing on it. That + the fact she has one in the anime, I think it's safe to say she has a Koffing in the games. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 03:37, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
But we know for sure she has a Koffing in the anime, but not in the games. In any case it would be more logical to show the Koffing in the anime section and hide the Koffing in the games section (or remove it altogether; by the time we have her team confirmed it's gonna be put on the party template)... Memo326 18:14, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
I agree with the above statement. Bugsy has Spinarak in his Gym in HG/SS, and he has a Spinarak in the anime, but not in the games. It should be deleted, because it's speculation. Littlmiget123 12:17, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
However, Bugsy wasn't advertised in prerelease material as having a Spinarak in the anime. Besides, they've put a large amount of focus on having pre-Unova Pokémon appearing in B2W2 and the Spinarak were part of a Gym puzzle while the picture of Koffing is at the centre of the stage where Homika is fought. Also, the Spinarak in Azalea Gym aren't actually Spinarak and just have a similar design, while the Koffing is clearly a picture of a Koffing. - Blazios talk 15:41, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
Still, Gym Leaders are known to have different Pokemon in the anime than in the games. Not counting the main cast, there's Erika, Sabrina, Koga, Blaine, Giovanni, Falkner, Bugsy, Whitney, the list goes on. Even in the Unova region; Lenora had a Lillipup before it evolved and Elesa has a Tynamo. I know that it was prereleased and stuff, but it's still the anime, which is far different from the games. Until a screenshot of Homika's Koffing is released, it should stay hidden. I myself believe that Homika has a Koffing, but belief and official game screenshots are two different things. ^-^; Littlmiget123 15:52, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
Like I said, none of those were advertised prerelease as having the Pokémon they have in the anime and none of the Pokémon they had in the anime were the main focus of the Gym in the games. Koffing is clearly of significance in the games as it's quite obviously the main focus of Homika's stage. - Blazios talk 16:21, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
For all we know Homika could just be a Koffing maniac who has Koffing plastered all over the place because she REALLY WANTS A KOFFING but she laments over the fact that she does not actually have one because it's so hard to find in the Unova region or something. Maybe you have to go on a sidequest to find a Koffing for her but she doesn't actually use it in battle. Maybe she'll only have it in rematch battles. Maybe she's a Dodger. In any case, I think it's far too premature to include Koffing as one of her owned Pokemon in the games. Game Freak seem to be getting great delight over trolling the fansites during this prerelease period, so just keep it hidden for now. 梅子 17:09, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Is she left-handed?

She appears to be left-handed (as the picture shows her holding the guitar the way lefties do). Is this noteworthy in some way? Ariano 16:03, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

I've noticed that as well, but I don't believe it should be added. Many people could be left handed in the Pokemon generation. *shrugs* - unsigned comment from Littlmiget123 (talkcontribs)
It's kind of speculative to assume that she's left handed. For all we know she could be ambidextrous (both handed). --Pokemaster97 00:27, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
Or she could be cross-dominant, which is more common variant to ambidexterity. My own father favors his left hand for fine motor skills but his right hand for gross motor skills. Maybe Homika plays her bass with her left hand but throws Pokeballs with her right. :P ...but at this point we don't know, so yeah, unless she says something about it in-game, end of discussion. 梅子 17:16, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Trivia

Just noticed that this was commented out: "She is the first Gym Leader to appear in the anime before her debut game." Surely in Australia this wouldn't be true, if they're getting it in spring? Is that why it's commented? -- GoldenCelebi 13:02, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Spring in Australia = Fall in the northern hemisphere. --ケンジガール 13:07, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
*facepalm* I can be annoyingly stupid at times. -- GoldenCelebi 13:15, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Can someone put this in the trivia section that she's the first poison gym leader thats the gym the first leader you face.Well shes most likely the first one you fight since she's only got 2 pokèmon. VENUS,MEGA,SCEPT,TORTE,SERP 03:25, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

She could be the second. So no.--ForceFire 03:28, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Yeah guess your right,sorry.VENUS,MEGA,SCEPT,TORTE,SERP 04:11, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

I really don't see why it's notable anyway. We don't say Falkner is the first Flying-type Gym Leader that is faced first. Or the Striaton Trio with their respective types. --ケンジガール 17:49, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Nux Vomica her true name?

Google translate translates her kanji'd name into "Nux Vomica". Seems odd but fitting. AverageHero 22:05, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

First, her name is Homika. Secondly, it's katakana, not kanji. Third, we already have a translation of her name. Lastly, please never use Google Translate to try and translate Japanese. It almost never comes out right. Ataro 22:08, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
To add onto what Ataro said, Homika was named directly after a plant, which is what Google Translate was probably getting at. Her Japanese name is still Homika. Rai Marshall 22:10, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm not an expert at telling the difference between Kanji and Katakana. Also, I was just trying throwing it out there since this IS a discussion page. Also, sorry that I used Google Translate, I'm new and just wanted to help. AverageHero 22:19, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Her father

The page says "Both Homika and Janine have known fathers in the series. Unlike Homika's father, Janine's father was also a Poison-type Gym Leader." but we do not know for a fact her father was not a Poison-type Gym Leader, just because we never battle him. There's every possibility he was at some point. Empoleon9 15:33, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

There is no evidence of that so far, so that fact stays for now. Sneaking from page to page... It's the page-editing purple ghost... Gengarzilla! 16:00, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
On the other hand there's no evidence of that "fact" so far, so surely it should just be left unstated? Empoleon9 16:17, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
I agree, the second sentence should be removed, it's affirming something not confirmed. Brycen is an actor and a Gym Leader, Homika's father could be both, too. |) u |( e ® 01:56, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
The reason I added it was because all of the Poison-type specialists are a father/daughter pair. Though since Homika's is only confirmed to be an actor, I had no clue how to word it. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 01:57, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
The fact that we only know that he's an actor is the reason this trivia exists. We have no idea if he was a Gym Leader or not.--ForceFire 03:03, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
I've got an idea for a compromise. Let's not add trivia. --Maxim 08:11, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
There's nothing wrong with trivia as long as it's notable. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 08:52, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

I was looking at the official site of black and white 2 and it did confirm that Brycen is her father(was right) not just talk pics too. Just go and look. So if that alright I gonna put it on both there trivia. Don't worry I give pics to prove it. - unsigned comment from Rusa11 (talkcontribs)

Specifically where on the official site? It's not on her page. --SnorlaxMonster 11:13, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

Well I have google translate but go to the BW2 offical site and when you get there's the BW2 comical and exit out of that and the 4 chose and make sure google translate on and read it the grammer wrong but you can clearly see it her dad or Papa.Rusa11 (talk) 22:22, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Brycen works with her father. Google probably didn't catch that and just simplified it to "Brycen her father" or something. But he's not her father. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 22:24, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Try not to be snooty. But how do you know.:PRusa11 (talk) 00:27, 16 June 2012 (UTC) And I'm coping this "To confront the daddy of nux vomica is Hachikuman. Does it have to do with Jim Lophatherum gracile was the leader of "Pokemon Black and White" · · ·.nux vomica Homika name translated and Brycen's Japanese name Hachiku. And said by a different person "Papa is also leader of the gym nux vomica, seems to challenge the actor apparently was a dream come true!" So there. Oh and the section is called HomikaPapa Challenge. And her dad is a Gym leader so who else could it be?!!

This image states it. "ホミカのパパと対決するのはハチクマン!?" right next to Brycen's face. How could Brycen face against himself? I'm sure Homika's father is the black-haired man in the screenshot left of Brycen. He's also in the screenshot with Homika in front of the Pokémon Center. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 00:48, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
No it dosn't I looked at your japanese and the pic's and they are different. So there. And if you read the pic there is no パパ so let just wait til the 23 and then we can settle this thenRusa11 (talk) 02:06, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
You must not be looking at the right part. I've cropped it out for you. Homika%20father.png Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 02:15, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
Please do not rely on machine translations—they can be good for getting a general idea of the text, but are never as good as a human translation. Anyway, another piece of text from the official website says ホミカのパパと対決するのはハチクマン。『ポケットモンスターブラック・ホワイト』のジムリーダーだったハチクと関係があるのだろうか・・・。--SnorlaxMonster 02:35, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
For the record, I'd like to state that the following is mentioned in the (Aus/Eu) versions abour Roxie's father:
- He is refererred to as 'Pop Roxie' (Both in his film credits and in the dialouge)
- He is the captain of the ship/ferry between Virbank and Castelia.
- He has(/d?) dreams of being a movie star and initially thought he could pull it off as well as his captaining, since his daughter seemed to be able to find a nice balance between her Gym Leader duties and her Band.
It's plausable he was the Gym Leader, but based on the above point I think that unlikely. Conductor Alix (talk) 22:18, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Gym Battle

With her being the first Gym Leader have a 3 on 6 battle, should something about that be listed and hidden on her page? G50 08:17, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

City/Possible Hometown

I think its already been confirmed that the city her gym is in is Tachiwaki City? Fluffbi 22:13, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

It pretty much has. But there's the so-called Bulbadenial. --Maxim 21:19, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Personally, I'm still waiting. They're near Iccirus in the anime, and the starting town is in the Southwestern most point of Unova. If she's an early-on gym leader, that's quite a distance to travel. There's nothing wrong with waiting. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 06:56, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
I don't think in the anime she's being battled in the same place as in the game. I mean, the anime is running on a different timeline if you want to use that argument, so perhaps she hasn't moved her gym yet. Also, Koga's gym in the anime was located outside Fuchsia City, so her's could easily be in a different place. Empoleon9 16:59, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

Toxic Badge?

How do we know that the badge is the Toxic badge? Is it speculative, in which case, shouldn't it be removed until we know for sure? --Pokemon26 16:01, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

I believe it said in an anime summary that Ash gets the Toxic Badge. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 16:02, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Poison

I was wondering could her usage of poison-types, and the fact that she is in a rockband be a reference to actual band Poison? - unsigned comment from Vaik (talkcontribs)

Aditional Quotes

Since I'm not sure if there's any rules about which quotes can be added to a character's page, would it be alright to add the following to Roxie's?

"You dim-witted…dense…dumb…daft…dippy…dorky…doltish DOOFUS!"

This was said on the player's first encounter with her and her father. And it's quite amusing. Conductor Alix (talk) 22:07, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Poison and Roxy

Her name is Roxie and she uses Poison types, am I the only that thinks this may be a Final fight reference?(Mightyena (talk) 21:18, 10 March 2013 (UTC))

Incorrect info

In the team summary for her Unova Leaders team, it says her Scolipede knows Poison Sting, Protect, Venoshock, and Rollout. I'm sure this is incorrect, as I've fought Roxie in the Unova Leaders Tournament, and her Scolipede has used Spikes and Toxic Spikes.

Reshiram14 (talk) 22:14, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Lyrics

Using a music website, I was actually able to confirm that the lyrics in her gym are "P-O-K-E-M-ON, POKEMON!" Thought it should be added. Also, a male voice can be heard under Roxie's voice.
