The pirate and his Pokémon crew

The pirate is a character of the day who appeared in Mystery on a Deserted Island!. As the name suggests, he was a pirate and the leader of a gang of Pokémon who inhabit a deserted island.

The pirate first appeared in a flashback when Alexa told Ash and his friends the story about how she found information about a treasure while she went to a pirate museum. The treasure belonged to the pirate. Alexa then told the group that he hid his treasure on the Decolore Islands and the deserted island they were heading to happened to be one of them. Afterwards, the pirate left a map behind that Alexa retrieved earlier as she wanted to know more about the treasure. The pirate reappeared later on in the episode in a flashback after the group recognized the Ninetales to be his Vulpix that was also present on a painting depicting the pirate.

		Vulpix → Ninetales
		The pirate had a Vulpix perched on his shoulder. After the pirate disappeared, Vulpix stayed on the island where the treasure was hidden with the other Pokémon. It was revealed to have evolved into Ninetales afterwards. Ninetales's known moves are Hidden Power, Energy Ball, Double Team, and Flamethrower.

		Shiftry (×3)
		At least one Shiftry was part of the pirate's Pokémon crew and multiple later appeared on the island with the treasure. Shiftry's known moves are Bullet Seed and Razor Leaf.

		Mismagius (×2)
		At least one Mismagius was part of the pirate's Pokémon crew and multiple later appeared on the island with the treasure. They were the first Pokémon to attack Team Rocket. Mismagius's known moves are Hidden Power and Shadow Ball.

		Honchkrow (×3)
		At least one Honchkrow was part of the pirate's Pokémon crew and multiple later appeared on the island with the treasure. When Ash and his friends went to the island, the Honchkrow were the first Pokémon the group saw. None of Honchkrow's moves are known.

		Nidoking ♂
		At least one Nidoking was part of the pirate's Pokémon crew and multiple later appeared on the island with the treasure. Nidoking's only known move is Poison Sting.
