Red's Pikachu

Red's Pikachu is the only main Pokémon in a game, and the only starter Pokémon of Kanto in Pokémon Yellow. When the player tries to go into Route 1, he (Red will be stopped by Professor Oak who encounters Pikachu. He will then be taken to his lab in Pallet Town where the rival (Blue) awaits.

Since the ordiniary starter Pokémon are all taken, the player will get the Pikachu, while the rival gets an Eevee. after the battle, the Pikachu will pop out from it's Poké Ball.

In the beginning, it will be angry and it's happiness can be reached by gaining a level or using a item such as Potion. It will drop when faint or transferrs to BIll's PC.

In Gold, Silver and {{pkmn|Crystal]], Red can be battled on the final floor of Mt. Silver and has Pikachu as one of his Pokémon. Here it's level is 81 and knows the attacks Charm, Quick Attack, Thunderbolt and Thunder.

It is unique in it's art since no other Pikachu is catchable in Pokémon Yellow, the only Pokémon being the sole Starter POokémon in a game, the only Surfing Pokémon obtainable in Generation I and II and can be transferred over to Pokémon Stadium 2 to be played in the game Pichu's Power Plant.

It seems to be based of Ash's Pikachu in the anime. Various Pokémons in the mangas has been based of him, including both Red's and Yellow's Pikachus in Special and Isamu Akai's Pikachu in the Pocket Monsters manga.
