A Rivalry to Gible On! (Japanese: フカマル…ゲットだぜ！ Fukamaru...Got It!) is the 145th episode of the Diamond & Pearl series, and the 611th episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired in Japan as a 1 hour special on October 1, 2009, along with Dressed for Jess Success! and in the United States on February 20, 2010.
Synopsis
As Ash and co. travel to Lilypad Town and Dawn's next contest with their new friends Khoury and Lyra, they decided to stop at a Pokémon center, Brock flirts to Nurse Joy again but only to be attacked by Croagunk. When suddenly, three kids along with their fainted Pokémon consult Nurse Joy; Joy realizes that they had tried to catch a wild Gible on Mount (NAME MISSING), but obviously failed. Joy warns Ash and co. about the rogue Gible then sees to the three kids' fainted Pokémon while Brock offers his help and they rush off to treat the three Pokémon. Ash decides that a rogue Pokémon must be a strong Pokémon and wants to catch it, Khoury is afraid because he thinks that it is too dangerous to catch the wild Pokémon, then the company make their way out to catch the Pokémon.
Along their way, Lyra asks Dawn of what she thinks of having Khoury as her boyfriend. The question surprises Dawn, Lyra tells her that they will be a great couple in the future which makes Dawn panick. A bit later along their way, a big rock comes flying towards them which was intentionally caused by the wild Gible. After Khoury checks Gible's data on his Pokédex, the wild Gible uses Strength and throws another big rock at Ash and co., they quickly jump out of the way, then Gible uses Rock Smash at the rock. This amazes Ash, but he and the girls are even more amazed that Khoury is suddenly fired up to catch it, wanting to raise the strong Gible into a powerful Gabite. Ash grins as his competitive spirit is stoked and saying he's the one that's going to catch it, he sends out Buizel while Khoury sends out Totodile. The Gible uses Sandstorm at them then quickly escapes with Dig. It totally amazed Ash and Khoury, Lyra suggested to help Ash for Dawn to keep an eye on Khoury, then they follow the wild Gible. Team Rocket was eavesdropping the whole time, they want to give Gible to the boss because of its amazing power.
Ash and Lyra with Buizel continues to look for Gible, Lyra spotted the Gible, and its moving very fast, Ash commands Buizel to use Aqua Jet at the fast moving Gible, when Buizel was about to hit Gible's dorsal fin, Gible completely hides the fin and dodges Buizel's attack. Gible changes course with Lyra spotting it the second time, Ash commands Buizel to aim Water Gun at the fast Pokémon, but fails when it dodge the attack using the same strategy. Then Gible jumps, Buizel uses SonicBoom but is easily dodges by the Gible. Gible moves at a top speed towards them, Ash commands Buizel to intercept it with Aqua Jet but it's dodges by the fast-moving Pokémon, Gible chases Ash and Lyra as they run through the grasslands, Lyra was afraid that it was able to catch up, Pikachu uses Thunderbolt at Gible but again dodges the attack with the same strategy, Gible then jumps and uses Sandstorm to keep Ash, Lyra and Pikachu away, then it suddenly disappears from sight. Ash realizes that catching Gible was harder than he thought it would be.
Dawn saw that Ash and Lyra are having a hard time catching the Pokémon, while Khoury decides to wait for Gible on a large rock above the grass than to chase it, by using a rod and gives Dawn one. When Khoury's rod suddenly shakes, they thought that they caught Gible but it turns out to be Piplup. Ash and Lyra come up with a different plan of catching Gible; they each take two sticks and walk about calling, beating the grass to make lots of noise. The Gible suddenly appeared pissed and rushes toward Lyra, Lyra jumps onto a rock so that Gible cannot follow her, but much to her surprise Gible breaks straight through the rock, knocking her down. Lyra told Ash that she was fine and instead look for Gible. Ash spotted Gible coming at Dawn and Khoury, he warns them that Gible was on their way, he commands Buizel to use Aqua Jet while Khoury commands his Totodile to use Aqua Tail and both aim at Gible. Gible however leaps out of the way at the last second, causing the two Pokémon to crash into each other. Buizel and Totodile clearly blame each other and start a brawl. Dawn gets something on her rod, but it's Piplup again. Ash and Khoury eventually break up brawl. Ash and Lyra tries Khoury's way of catching Gible by using rods. Khoury come up with an idea of putting Pokémon food only for Ground and Dragon types on the own rods to attract Gible. Lyra teases Khoury about his cooking, but Khoury says it has improved with Brock's assistance.
Dawn's rod soon attracts the wild Gible and starts pulling her rod, realizing that it is very strong. She struggles with it as Khoury jumps in to keep the rod steady, with Lyra being thrilled that the two of them "are getting closer". When Dawn starts to reel the rod in, Gible grabs the line with one hand and yanks it, throwing Dawn and Khoury right off their feet and the rock. Gible breaks a gouge throught the middle of the rock, then runs off at full speed away with Ash chasing it. Khoury uses a sensor at the ground to feel Gible's presence, Lyra sends out her Marill and detects Gible's location. Team Rocket saw Ash and co. and follows them, Khoury senses that Gible was on a nearby cave but he also warns Dawn that its dangerous and need to be careful. Ash, excited to catch Gible, runs into the cave with no worries but then fall through a Trapinch's Arena Trap. After he was saved by Khoury, the two argued because of Ash acting so recklessly. They soon entered the cave trying to search for Gible, the four splitted into two groups, Ash with Lyra then Dawn with Khoury. Marill assisted them in finding the Pokémon, Marill detects that the Gible was in underground so Ash sends out Monferno and tells it to use Dig everywhere. Unfortunately, Monferno pisses a bunch of Diglett and Dugtrio, the Diglets and Dugtrios carry Ash and Lyra along with their Pokémon into some part of the cave with Dawn and Khoury chasing them but fails to follow them and loses their tracks. Khoury and Dawn, finds the cave to be a maze and was chased by an angry Onix, inorder to escape the Onix, the two split up and Onix hits the wall, awaking bunch of Zubat. Ash and Lyra escapes the Diglets and Dugtrios, they soon hear voices of Dawn and Khoury but before they could run into them, they were attack by bunch of Zubat. Dawn and her Piplup finds Khoury, but meets Ash instead.
Lyra, being alone with her Marill, was later contacted by Khoury through her PokéGear and instructs Lyra to tap in the cave's wall so that he can find her through his sensors. Soon the four meets up and decides to find the exit first before finding Gible. Ash and co. finally come out of the cave, outside, they found the rude Gible and seems to be ready for battle and all fired up. Ash and Khoury are ready to capture the wild Gible, but Dawn and Lyra convince Ash to let Khoury have a shot. Khoury sends out Totodile,
Totodile uses Aqua Tail but Gible stops it with its Sandstorm, Gible quickly uses Strength and aim a rock towards Totodile, Khoury tells Totodile to catch the rock and use crunch and Totodile completely shattered the rock, Khoury commands Totodile to use Superpower but Gible catches the boulder and breaks it by using Focus Punch. The team cheers for Khoury, while Gible gets a nearby boulder and shattered it through its head, showing how tough it was, Totodile did the same too, the two Pokémon continues to shatter big and bigger boulders through their heads to show that they are much stronger than the other. The two Pokémon shatter two big boulders using their heads, but it seems that Gible doesn't want to lose so it gets very large rock that shocks everyone that it might crush Gible, Gible splits the large rock into two parts which exhaust Gible and completely weakened but Gible tries to escape using Dig but before it could escape, Khoury commands Totodile to use Water Gun at the hole, the attack hits Gible and drive it out of the ground, Khoury told Totodile to use Aqua Tail which hits Gible, Khoury saw his chance, he throws a Pokéball at it and Gible was caught. Ash and co. congratulates Khoury of his success. Team Rocket is still in the water, hoping to catch the rude Pokémon, thought that they caught Gible into Wobbuffet's rod, but instead they caught a Sharpedo which continues to chase them.
Outside the Pokémon Center as they have their dinner along with their friends, Brock tells them that Lilypad town is their next stop for Dawn to earn her next ribbon.

- As displayed in this episode a new visual effect has been introduced for when a Poké Ball is used to capture a Pokémon, as it will now let off several sparkles when the capture succeeds, similar to the games.
- This episode has a very similar Japanese title to a future episode which is just 12 episodes later.
- Music from Pokémon Heroes is used.
- Team Rocket seem to think Gible is a water type.
- The cave that they visited bear resemblance to Wayward Cave, it has a maze-like characteristics and a place where it is very easy to get lost in, also, it is the only place that they knew to catch a wild Gible.

- After Ash and Lyra get blown away by Gible's Sandstorm, one of Ash's gloves is colored orange.
