New core series game coming to Nintendo Switch

An upcoming core series game for Nintendo Switch was announced by Tsunekazu Ishihara of The Pokémon Company on June 13, 2017, during the Nintendo Spotlight presentation at E3. While Game Freak had begun working on the game by that time, the game's release date was initially announced to be mid-2018 at earliest.^[1] In June 2018, the release date was further specified to be in the second half of 2019.^[2]

Unlike Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, this game will not be an entry game, but is aimed at long-time Pokémon fans. It will also feature new Pokémon.^[2]
