The Pokémon games started Rockersk08's interest in Pokémon, beginning with Pokémon Red on his Game Boy Pocket. Although he has owned games from each generation, he gave his Crystal, Sapphire, Emerald, and LeafGreen cartridges away, and his Gold and Silver cartridges no longer save due to dry cell batteries. Currently, he plays Pearl, reserving his original Diamond for breeding and link battles.

For Red, he chose Charizard as his starter. Red was more of an introductory than actual gaming for him because he made common mistakes: not raising a balanced team, no movesets, and relying too much on Charizard. He fixed his mistakes in Pokémon Yellow, completing it with a balanced team at level 50.

Pokémon Gold was the revolution. He got it in 2002 and immediately started, choosing Typhlosion as his starter. That was the first game where he would raise a team to level 100, although he used two Legendary Pokémon: Mewtwo and Ho-oh. He played that version until 2005. He did get a hold of Silver and Crystal, but he favored the newer generations after they were released.

Rockersk08 originally didn't want to try , so he jumped to FireRed while his cousin got LeafGreen. He once again chose Charizard as his starter, and he found FireRed much harder but more rewarding. After switching out his team, he raised his first non-legendary team to level 100: Tyranitar, Machamp, Alakazam, Lapras, Jolteon, and Arcanine. He still has that team on his Diamond card, updated with Generation IV moves. He did get ahold of Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, using them for Pokémon Diamond. He chose Blaziken as his starter for Sapphire.

Pokémon Diamond is the current game he plays, along with the counterpart Pearl. He raised yet another team to level 100, although Dialga was on the team. He chose Empoleon as his starter and he raised it to level 100, the first starter he did so with. Luxray, Alakazam, Golem, and Machamp joined the team. On his Pearl version, he chose Infernape as his starter. Since he found out about Effort Values, he now plans to raise new Pokémon for competition, but only to level 50. As of December 1st 2008, he has six Pokémon raised with superior Effort Values.

Rockersk08 is a member of Bulbapedia, joined on October 20th, 2008. He found Bulbapedia through Wikipedia, which he normally used as an information source. Since he found Bulbapedia more comprehensive, he switched to using it as his Pokémon source. His primary reason to join was to contribute to the anime episode summaries. He first took an interest in Pokémon when he received Pokémon Red, following up with viewing the anime.

Games

The Pokémon games started Rockersk08's interest in Pokémon, beginning with Pokémon Red on his Game Boy Pocket. Although he has owned games from each generation, he gave his Crystal, Sapphire, Emerald, and LeafGreen cartridges away, and his Gold and Silver cartridges no longer save due to dry cell batteries.

He got it in 2002, along with a Target-endorsed Game Boy Advance, and immediately started, choosing Typhlosion as his starter. That was the first game where he would raise a team to level 100, although he used two Legendary Pokémon: Mewtwo and Ho-oh. He played that version until 2005. He did get a hold of Silver and Crystal, but he favored the newer generations after they were released.

Rockersk08 originally didn't want to try Ruby and Sapphire, so he jumped to FireRed while his cousin got LeafGreen.

He reserves Diamond for link battles and breeding.

Anime

Rockersk08 has seen most of the anime episodes from the Original Series, all of the Advanced Generation, and parts of Diamond and Pearl. He currently has the Orange Islands box set, both Battle Frontier box sets, and the first two Diamond and Pearl box sets. He strives to pick up the remaining episodes on DVD.

Contributions

Rockersk08's first contribution was the synopsis to the Advanced Challenge episode The Bicker The Better on October 22nd, 2008. He also joined Project Anime and Project Walkthroughs.
