Route 24 is an area north of Cerulean City. Route 24 features the Nugget Bridge, where members of Team Rocket will fight the main character one by one and offer them a spot on the evil team. Either way, the reward for completing the challenge is a valuable Nugget.

The Rival of the Kanto-based games will also ambush the main character for a battle here.

After the Elite Four are defeated, Surf can be used here to swim south and reach Cerulean Cave behind a blocked off area of Cerulean. In Generation II, the cave has been sealed off.

Aside from that, there are areas to find wild Pokémon both in the grass and in the water.

In Generation I, TM 45 Thunder Wave can be picked up here.

In Pokémon Yellow, a trainer will give away a Charmander.

Route 24 intersects with Route 25 at its north end.
