The episode starts with Ash training his Grovyle together with Brock and his Mudkip. Grovyle starts using Bullet Seed, but Mudkip dodges it. Ash attacks with Leaf Blade, which makes a direct hit on Mudkip and it starts to evolve into Marshtomp. Then, Marshtomp attacks Grovyle with Mud Shot but Grovyle dodge it and it hits a Flaaffy.

Brock offers help but Mariah the owner of the Flaaffy did not accept it and instead she ran to her Grandma Cadee's drugstore. Grandma Cadee gives Flaaffy a medicine and all its wounds were healed. Ash and Brock immediately apologize and introduced themselves. Then, Brock and Marshtomp hold Mariah and Flaaffy's hands and showed attraction. Then, a guy named McCauley and his Ampharos came and showed his energy medicine to Cadee but McCauley didn't mix the Cheri Berry well, and Cadee said that she can't sell it. McCauley was very disappointed hearing that from Grandma Cadee. Then, Team Rocket plans to steal the medicines in the drugstore.

Cadee told McCauley to mind the drugstore while she make medicine. May, Max and Brock go with Cadee and Mariah, while Ash and Pikachu train for their next Frontier battle. Then, Cadee mixed some ingredients and Brock took some notes as they watched Cadee make medicine. When all the ingredients were mixed Cadee put it into a bottle and used her Mareep's electricity to purify the medicine.

Back at the drugstore, Jessie and James disguised themselves as an old man and a lady, while Wobbuffet and Meowth are inside a Snorlax costume. Then, Team Rocket stole and put all the medicine in the Snorlax costume, but McCauley saw that Meowth and Wobbuffet were inside and it's not a real Snorlax. Team Rocket ran away with the medicines, but Ash sees them and commands Grovyle to use Bullet Seed to stop them. Team Rocket don't give the medicine to McCauley, so Brock told Marshtomp to use Mud Shot, and Team Rocket fell to a boat and was carried to a waterfall.

During the night, Brock combs Marshtomp and telling him that together with Mariah and Flaaffy they will be good couples. Then, Ash saw an electricity on the drugstore so they went there. Inside was Ampharos and McCauley practicing to make medicine but the bottle burst because of too much electricity. May told him that it is too late to practice, but McCauley said that he want to be as good as Cadee. Then, he told everyone a story when Mariah and him were just little kids and watching Cadee make medicine. He wants to be good in making medicine but he always fail. Doctor Cadee came and told him that he lacks self confidence and resulted failure.

Trivia

Errors

  • Max incorrectly calls Mud Shot an Earth-type attack. However, this error was corrected for all subsequent airings.
  • In one of the scenes shortly after Flaaffy was healed, Ash's gloves were skin-toned, making it appear as if he only had green wristbands on.
