Cruise, Ritchie's Pupitar (Japanese: クルーズ Cruise, ヒロシのサナギラス Hiroshi's Sanagiras) is one of Ritchie's Pokémon, a Pupitar. Its English voice actor is Eric Stuart.

It first appeared in The Mystery is History. Butch and Cassidy were attempting to steal a baby Lugia, but Ash and Ritchie refused to let that happen. To stop them, Ritchie sent out his Pupitar. It was very strong in battle, and it caused the two Team Rocket members to retreat.

Ritchie also used Cruise in A Promise is a Promise. Butch and Cassidy were once again trying to prevent the kids from rescuing Silver and its mother. Ritchie called upon Cruise to take care of them and the other Rocket Grunts in the area. After it defeated them, Cruise helped Ash and Misty free Silver from its cage by tackling the bars after Ash's Cyndaquil, Totodile and Misty's Poliwhirl had weakened them.

Although Cruise hasn't been seen since that episode, it's believed the Pokémon is still a member of Ritchie's team.

Trivia

  • Cruise was the only Pokémon species, (Pupitar), that Ritchie has been seen to own that Ash has not owned. It could be said that Ash's Larvitar works as its parallel, since it is its pre-evolved form, but Ash never officially caught it.
    • It was also, if it is a counterpart to Larvitar, the only Pokémon Ritchie is known to own that was not revealed after Ash had one already.
    • Ritchie also owns other Pokémon Ash does not own. In the beginning of Friends to the End, there were some scenes showing Ritchie battling. In these scenes, the Pokémon include Spearow and Tentacool, Pokémon Ash does not own.
