Casey (Japanese: ナナコ Nanako) is a nominally recurring character in the Pokémon anime. Her English name, a reference to the poem "Casey At the Bat", means "brave", and her Japanese name can be taken to mean "seventh child" (七子), although usually only male children are numbered. Her Japanese seiyu is 熊谷ニーナ Nīna Kumagaya.
She and her family are fans of the Electabuzz baseball team, and she loves Pokémon with the team's colors, yellow with black stripes. She started with a Chikorita, which she received from Professor Elm of New Bark Town.
Casey has been compared to Ash in his early days of Pokémon training. However, they have different styles of training, and different tastes in Pokémon.
