Nero (Japanese: ヌシ Nushi) is the nickname of a Whiscash that appeared in the Pokémon anime. It is another giant Pokémon that appeared in the anime. Its English voice actor is Eric Stuart.

Nero first gained the attention of a fisherman named Sullivan. Impressed by how big it was, he was determined to capture it. However, no matter how many times he tried, Nero would always escape from him.

Ash wanted to get ahold of Nero as well, but for a completely different reason. While fishing in the lake Nero resided in, the Pokémon got ahold of Ash's Badge case and refused to give it back. The young trainer was desperate to get back his case, as well as the five Badges he had already earned.

With the help of Pikachu's Thunderbolt on Team Rocket, Nero went flying out of the water and spit out Ash's Badge case. Sullivan, however, wasn't as lucky. When attempting to capture Nero with a Master Ball, the Pokémon ate it, and jumped back into the lake.

Sullivan promised that he would keep trying to capture Nero, and as Ash and his friends bid farewell to the fisherman, Nero was seen playing with the Master Ball on its tongue.
