Gastro Acid is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV.
Effect
Gastro Acid cancels the target's in-battle ability. Therefore, the target's ability will be ignored until the end of the battle. Switching either Pokémon will not remove this effect. It does not affect abilities that only have an effect outside of battle, such as Pickup.

- Despite being introduced in Generation IV, no Pokémon introduced in that generation can learn this move until Platinum. Even by the Platinum move tutor, only one Generation IV Pokémon can learn this move, Carnivine.
- Although the in-game description sounds revolting, Contests count it as a beauty move.
