Saur (Japanese: フッシー Fusshii) was the second Pokémon shown to be obtained by Red in Pokémon Special. He was received by Professor Oak.
History
Saur was given to Red when he accidentally released all of Professor Oak's Pokémon from his lab. After Red caught back all of his Pokémon, Red battled Saur with his Poli and caught him. Professor Oak saw the bonding between Saur and Red and allowed him to keep it. It evolved into Ivysaur in PS015 at the gates of Celadon City, when it battled an attacking Mankey. Saur was temporarily under Green by accident when Red and Green's Pokéballs were swapped. It evolved again in PS033, when he was battling the merged version of Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno. Red told Saur to keep attacking when he evolved.
