In Japan, this card was available as an insert with the July 2000 issue of CoroCoro comic. The English version of the card was available through the Pokémon League in June 2001.

Trivia

The Japanese version of this card features the Neo Discovery set symbol, indicating that it is a promotional addition to the Japanese set.

Origin

Leer is a move in the Pokémon games that Scizor can learn. Metal Pincer is similar to Metal Claw, also a move that Scizor can learn. The card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Silver.
