In celebration of the New Year 2020, Magikarp became more common in Max Raid Battles, with some of the Max Raid Battles programmed to guarantee a Shiny. Rewards for defeating Magikarp include a Big Nugget and several potential Nuggets.^[1] This event was temporarily overriding the event from December 4, 2019 to January 9, 2020.
