Trivia

This was the first card in the TCG to have 200 HP, and also the first card with a Retreat Cost of five. Neither of these figures have been surpassed as of Platinum, though they have been matched.

Origin

Super Deep Dive might be based on Dive, a move in the Pokémon games that Wailord can learn via HM (in Generation III) or move tutor (in Generation IV). Dwindling Wave's effect of weakening as Wailord takes damage mirrors that of Water Spout, which Wailord can also learn.
