The rewards menu for Trainer rank.

Trainer rank is a reward system in Pokémon Shuffle that tracks the amount of unique Pokémon species that the player has caught. A progress bar for Trainer rank is visible on the world map, and the Trainer rank menu can be accessed from there. It was added in version 1.5.0 (3DS) on January 9, 2018, and version 1.12.0 (Mobile) on February 7, 2018.

Trainer rank only counts a Pokémon species once per unique Pokémon List index number - for example, catching 5 versions of Pikachu (all of which have the list number #016) will only contribute 1 point towards Trainer rank.

Trainer rank's count maxes out at 802, at which point every species of Pokémon has been caught. However, note that there are discrepancies between Trainer rank's count and other count systems in the game:

  • The "Number of Pokémon caught" amount shown on the player's profile counts alternate versions separately, meaning it will usually be higher than the Trainer rank total. When all versions of all Pokémon have been obtained, this number maxes out at 987.
  • Since Mega Charizard X/Y and Mega Mewtwo X/Y let the player choose the Mega Evolution form by duplicating the base Pokémon's entry, the search menu in the Pokémon List will count Charizard, Shiny Charizard, Mewtwo, and Shiny Mewtwo twice each. Due to this, the number of "Caught Pokémon" in this search menu is increased by 4 at most, maxing out at 991.

Trainer rank requirements and rewards

Once a reward has been earned, the player may claim it at any time. If a reward would be a mega stone but the player already owns that mega stone, then the player will be given Level Up.png Level Up ×1 instead.
